For LGUs, e-government is the application of
information and communication technology (ICT) to improve and transform
the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability of informational
and transactional exchanges within the LGU, between agencies of government
at the national or local levels, citizens and businesses; and to empower
citizens through access and use of information.
More than ever, our citizenry needs more information,
services and support from their cities and municipalities and these can
be provided faster, more accurately and conveniently using the facilities
of e-commerce and e-government.
