The
Municipal Development Fund Office - Local Government
Financial Development (MDFO-LOGOFIND) Team
evaluated the proposed Reconstruction of Municipal
Health Center project of the municipality during the
ocular inspection conducted on August 2-4, 2004.
The Team is composed of 4 personnel from the
LOGOFIND Central Project Management Office headed by
its Team Leader, Mr. Dondon Almonacid. The other
members of the team are Economist Ace Neptuno,
Electrical Engineer Roylito Escala and Design
Engineering Associate Arch. Dondon Ong.
The
LOGOFIND team made a courtesy visit to Mayor Butardo
upon their arrival to the municipality. After which
they called for a kick-off meeting with the
concerned municipal officials to gather first-hand
data relevant for the proposed sub-project. For two
days, the team made ocular inspections at the
project site, gathered data, made their observations
and posed issues and concerns regarding the proposed
Health Center renovation. An exit meeting was also
conducted by the team before their take-off to
LOGOFIND Office which was held on August 4, 2004 at
the MPDC Office. This was attended by Mayor Manny
Butardo, SB Member Marte Caparros, MPDC Russell
Narte, Engr. Gregoria Arguelles, Treasurer Adoracion
Caparros, OIC-Budget Officer Marichu Alcantara,
Project Engr. Enrique Villanea and Dr. Jojo Ardiente.
Preliminary Cost Estimate of the Project reached 6
Million Pesos. If approved, the project will be
funded by WB-LOGOFIND on a 50-40-10 cost sharing
scheme. 50% of the project cost will be granted
free by MDFO-LOGOFIND, 40% will be in the form of
Loan at 12% interest per annum payable in 15 years,
and 10% Equity share by the Municipal Government.
Dr.
Jojo Ardiente together with all the MHO staff highly
expects for the approval and immediate
implementation of the proposed sub-project. Once
renovated, it will greatly help them in attaining
their goal and mission of providing better and
efficient health services to the populace.
The renovated
health center will be equipped with the necessary
equipment to make it a 24-hour Lying-in center with
at least 3-bed capacity delivery-recovery room. |
Senator Franklin Drilon granted One Million Pesos
Funding Assistance to the Municipality of
Guinayangan, Quezon for the Concreting of the
peripheral road in the newly constructed public
market in Barangay Calimpak. In a letter sent to
the Office of the Municipal Mayor by the Senator,
this grant is sourced from the “Senatorial
Development Assistance Fund under RA 9206 –
Continuing Appropriation” and under the
Department of Budget and Management “Special
Allotment Release Order” (SARO) No.
ROCS-04-00529.
MPDC
Russell C. Narte has coordinated with the Office of
Senator Drilon for the immediate transfer of said
grant to the municipal coffer so as to start the
concreting of the peripheral road in the soonest
time.
Meanwhile, the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) has
already conducted the public bidding for the said
works on July 23, 2004. R. V. Laborte Builders, the
contractor from Lucena City submitted the lowest
calculated bid in the amount of P
973,302.49. The BAC Secretariat is currently
preparing for the Notice of Award and other
necessary documents for the signing of contract
between the contractor and the municipal government.

Mayor Manny
requested P20 Million funding assistance from
the Senatorial Priority Development Assistance Fund
of Hon. Senator Rodolfo Biazon for the proposed
Rehabilitation of Dungawan Farm to Market Road and
the Rehabilitation of Sta. Cruz-Ermita-San Roque
Farm to Market Road. The assistance of Hon. Erin Tañada
was also sought to back and expedite the granting of
said request by the Senator.
As can be recalled, Senator Biazon also provided the
municipality early this semester with P
500,000.00 funding assistance for the Concreting of
Manggagawa Barangay Road. The Municipality is just
awaiting for the transfer of said fund by the
Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to the
municipal coffer so as to start the concreting of
the road.
Once granted, the
rehabilitation of the aforesaid farm-to-market roads
will greatly boast food productions as well as the
faster delivery of basic services in the area
thereby reducing poverty and improving the
socio-economic conditions of the rural families. |
